North Korea is working on advancement of its missile and nuclear programs, despite international sanctions, as per the confidential United Nations report. This island nation has been barred for manufacture of any such weapon by the UN.

Although no nuclear tests or launches of ballistic missiles that cross the continent were disclosed this the year North Korea kept developing “its capability to produce nuclear fissile substances,” according to the report, which was prepared by sanctions monitors , and then distributed to the fifteen UN Security Council members. This is not first time North Korea has invalidated the sanctions.
The document also stated that North Korea resorted to cyberattacks specifically targeting cryptocurrency assets, which is key sources of revenue.
The UN experts have noted a significant increase in the quality illicit refined petroleum imports this year, however at a much lower rate than the previous year.
While Western nations have continuously pushed for greater tension to Pyongyang, Beijing and Moscow have called for the lifting of sanctions on human rights grounds.
